Game Designing Concept : Horse Racing & Advanced Chess
Our team members created Horse Racing design concept for the first week. The game needs 4 players to play, and it's a mind-based game type. It contains 2 phase : Training Phase and Competition Phase. Each players take turn every time they made their move.
During the Training Phase, each players takes turns to train their horses. While each player has only 1 horse, they need to manage their horse skills well. There are two attributes which describes the horse's ability : Speed and Stamina. Basically the horse needs to run and speed describes how fast they run, and stamina decides the limit for the horse to run. Each trainings cost money, money can be earned by winning match, and when a player is out of money, he will be bankrupt.
After the Training Phase ends, next is Competition Phase. Each players takes turns to move their horses. Each turn the player needs to use spin to determine their horse pace so that the higher the number, the longer his horse travels. Each horses has limited stamina, if the stamina gets too low, their speed will gradually decrease by 75%. Players can make their horses into jogging state, which allows them to recover stamina time by time, thereby decreasing the speed to 50%. However, jogging state forces them by 5 turns before they can switch to other states. Players can also have sprint state, doubles the speed but increases the stamina costs even more than a double. This state allows players to punish the other players who jog their horses when they are close to finish line.
Secondly, this is called Battle Chess. It's a modified version of a normal chess, but each pieces has their own life's and damages. They also have current stance (except peons): North, South, West, and East. For example like: when a Queen's stance is north, then she can only move north, she can't move south or west because of her facing. Turning around a piece costs 1 turn, so basically players need to plan this carefully. Attacking will make the player to roll some numbers, which identifies the amount of attack he can make. However, other piece can also guard their allies from being attacked. Attacking a victim's attacker will constitute 150% damages of their attack points.
