Prototype Design (Part 2) : Battle Royale

<<< link to the previous part
In this section, I'm going to discuss about my team's game design prototype progress...

Well, first of all, my team consists of 4 person:
Dillan Martin (FuwaFuwa Mochi) link to journal
Lin Che An (LinCheAn) link to journal
Jansen (verguzjansen) link to journal
and me : Hansel Gunarto (alphablu3)

Our game is still in prototype, the playable physical game is being developed. In this part of journal, I am going to discuss about the pace of the game, and how the game should be played by every players. The game should be played with the minimum of 5 players and the maximum of 10 players. This game would be played as text-based board game. What is text-based board game? I will discuss about that by how the way the game will be played.
Here's how; the game needs to have game master(s) to lead the progress of the game, and to determine each movements of the players. Well, all of the players should be able to see the map by projecting the map or somehow to make the players fully understand the place. In this game, each players take turns for every of their movements. They have to take notes to sent them into the game master(s) to tell the game master(s) about their movements.

As of you who haven't seen, here's the map for our game design:

As for the strategy, however the game is based on communication between players. The player's objective is to kill the other players and being the last one to survive, while they can actually make alliance with the other players or break the alliance through communication. By aiming to be the last one to survive, in other words each alliance they made is decided with their enemies. Sad huh? But that's how it's done to make you survive. Battlefield is an unforgiving place.
Our team members have discussed about how the message could be possible to be delivered. Well, the participant can create several accounts for social messenger like Windows Live Messenger judging by how many participants are there including the players and the game masters. Each time there are two players met in certain distance, they are allowed to make contact with each other. So in other words, they can initiate communication through the particular messenger.

So are you interested with this game concept? Stay tuned on our game design journal to find out of our updates on the game!
